Responsibilities of the Client / Installer

The beautiful finished solid wood floor is a product of nature and, for this reason, has its peculiar characteristics. Our hardwood floors are manufactured to industry standards on the market, allowing for deficiencies, not exceeding 5%. These deficiencies may be fabrication or nature of wood. When the floor is requested by the customer, 5% should be added to the square footage for cuts and alignments.

• The Customer / Installer assumes all responsibility for the final inspection of the product and its quality. Floor inspection must be done prior to installation. Carefully examine the flooring color, varnishing and quality before installing it. If the material is not acceptable, do not install it. Contact the seller immediately.

 

• Prior to the installation of any wooden floor, the customer / installer must determine that the installation site and floor are in a condition to receive the product. Construction recommendations and materials should be followed. These instructions recommend that the work and counter floor be clean, dry, rigid and structurally flat.

The manufacturer is not liable for any liability caused or caused by deficiencies in the floor or derivatives, in the workplace.

 

• Prior to installation, the Customer / Installer must make a final inspection to ensure quality of the fabrication and varnishing. The installer must use “good judgment” for the installation and selection of faulty parts, no matter the cause. If a part is having too many problems such as fabrication or lower grading, the installer should not use this part.

 

• The use of dyes, fillers, waterproofing agents or weights for counter-floor correction is acceptable as a normal part of the installation procedures.

Storage and Handling

The finished wooden floor should be stored in the environment that will be installed. Deliver the material in a controlled environment. Use a humidity gauge, measure and document the humidity of both the floor and the hardwood floor. The difference between the floor and the wood can not exceed 4%. Leave the wood acclimatizing in the environment, if necessary, to reach these levels. Store in a dry place, ensuring at least 10cm of space between the cartons in the concrete. The floors should not be delivered until the building is completely closed, with windows and doors in places and until the cement is completely dry. It is recommended 10 days of drying for every 1cm of concrete thickness.

Conditions of the counter floor

• CLEAN - The floor must be free of wax, paints, oils, adhesives and other materials not indicated for the floor.

 

• LEVELING - Sand dregular areas or joints. Waterproof or leveling the lower parts.

• DRY - Use moisture retardants if necessary.

​

NOTE: Avoid floors with irregularities. The best performance of the wood floor happens against completely level floors. If your counter floor is with many gaps, it will continue with uneven after installation of the finished wood floor.
